The Event Planner, Event Designer, Project Manager, Author, and Event Coordinator for Taste of Baltimore, a semi-annual event for chefs and bakers to highlight their foods to the attendees. Not to mention, this young phenom is a Serial Entrepreneur and an extraordinary Foster mom.
Kia Sharay is one of Baltimore’s “best-kept secrets” due to the stellar work she does consistently and persistently across the city. Kia’s success story becomes inspired by her prominent mother and not wanting to see anyone around her struggle. “Seeing my mom struggle motivated me to create opportunities where no one around me had to struggle again.”
Kia praises her prominent mother for everything she has done to ensure her bright future. “I wanted to make the best of my mom’s sacrifices.” Born and raised in Baltimore, she attended Mount St Mary’s University, earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and business.
Kia continued her education and graduated from the University of Maryland College with a master’s in project management. “My vision started in college, realizing I didn’t want to work for nobody.” Soon after, she dropped a clothing line, “See Me See Vision.”
Kia continued and curated fashion shows for five years straight while running a funnel cake business. While in the midst of that, she came up with the idea of having an event where chefs and bakers could come out and serve samples of their food. She executed that idea and gave birth to Taste of Baltimore in 2019.
Kia Sharay is now working on one of her most significant projects to influence a generation of little girls worldwide. During her experience when she was pregnant with her daughter, Kia got inspired to create children’s books to encourage every little girl to know the majestical power they have and to know they are Queens who are worth Royalty. The book’s title will be called Little Miss Majesty and will be released soon this year with a huge tea party for the launch, where everyone can invite their daughters out for a good time.
